Description

Tots  - Age: 3 – 6 years. These sessions will develop your child’s agility, balance and coordination skills (ABCs) which are fundamental to their early development, along with teaching them the basics of the game. This is a great foundation for our mini red program.

Juniors – Age: 5 – 8 years. A fantastically progressive system of learning all the shots and techniques on scaled down courts and rackets with soft balls. Children are coached through the LTA Mini Rally Award Scheme with certificates awarded as they progress through the levels.

What happens when it gets dark?
The club has floodlit courts so the sessions will still run perfectly well even when it gets dark in the evenings.

What happens when it rains?
If it begins to rain after a session has began, the session will continue in the clubhouse with tennis theory and footwork, agility and balance exercises.
If prior to the start of a session we believe the conditions will not be playable in, we shall cancel the class by sending a text message to the contact number given, endeavouring to always do so at least 30 minutes before the start of the class. Players will be invited to make up the missed session at any of our other weekly classes for their age group.

How many players are there in a group?
We pride ourselves on running a structured program where children learn and improve their tennis. We always endeavour to keep small groups to each coach/coaching assistant and stay within the LTA player:coach ratios at all times.

Does my child need to have played before and will they need their own equipment?
No, unless your child has been selected for one of our ‘team’ sessions, we expect them to be in the beginning stages of learning the sport. The way our system is designed, as they grow and improve they will be able to progress and be continually challenged and moved forwards.
We have rackets at the club for your child to borrow, although if they already have one then we do recommend using their own. Our coaches can always advise you on purchasing the right racket.
