Roald Dahl Museum & Story Centre

Roald Dahl Museum & Story Centre

Roald Dahl Museum in Buckinghamshire (45 mins from north west London) a great place for all the family to explore and experience Roald Dahl’s great stories.

Visit our great little award-winning Museum, situated in the Buckinghamshire village where Roald Dahl lived and wrote for 36 years.

The Museum features three interactive galleries. Boy gallery looks at Roald Dahl’s school days while Solo gallery houses his original Writing Hut. The Story Centre puts your imagination centre-stage with fantabulous activities to inspire the writer in you.

Roald Dahl’s stories have become part of our national heritage and are passed on by the parents, grandparents and teachers that loved them as children to the next generation of readers.

Because of this, we hope to support all our visitors to read and to write for pleasure and encourage the interaction between older and younger visitors. We model this through our workshops and our fun and participatory storytelling sessions, as well as offering family learning suggestions in our Visitors’ guidebook. After all, Roald Dahl’s children’s stories came about because he told his children made-up bedtime stories.
