The National Portrait Gallery in central London is a great place to visit for the whole family, check the website for family events


The Gallery was founded in 1856 to collect portraits of famous British men and women. Explore over 175,000 portraits from the 16th Century to the prersent day.

The Gallery has workshops and family events throughout the school holidays which are suitable for age 3+.

Opening Times

Saturday – Wednesday 10.00am – 6.00pm

Thursday & Friday – 10.00am – 9.00pm


Entry to the building is free of charge, although there are ticket prices for special exhibitions that go on throughout the year.
