Take to the air on London’s only cable car and enjoy a truly unique experience in east London.

The Emirates Air Line crosses the River Thames between Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Docks, just five minutes from the O2 by North Greenwich Tube station. Cabins arrive every 30 seconds and flights are approximately 10 minutes each way. A cabin fits a maximum of 10 people. Buggies must be folded flat before boarding the Air Line,

You can board from either the North Greenwich or Royal Victoria sides of the river (return flights are available).

The Discovery experience includes a non-stop round-trip, an on-board video tour, free entrance to Emirates Aviation Experience and a souvenir in-flight guide. Oyster pay as you go customers will need to collect a Boarding Pass from the ticket office.

Opening Times

Emirates Air Line cable car is now open later every evening from 28th March 2015 until 30th September 2015.

Summer (28 March to 30 September)

Monday to Thursday 07:00-22:00

Friday 07:00-23:00

Saturday 08:00-23:00

Sunday 09:00-22:00

 

Winter (1 October to 31 March)

Monday to Friday 07:00-20:00

Saturday 08:00-20:00

Sunday 09:00-20:00

 

On Bank Holidays, we operate a Saturday timetable. Emirates Air Line is closed on Christmas Day and for regular maintenance, details will be displayed on this page.

Emirates Air Line may temporarily close due to:

  • Threat of lightning and thunder to the immediate area
  • Very strong winds

Other Information

North Greenwich is a bustling tourist spot, ideal for a day trip out with family or friends. There is a wide variety of things to do and see with sightseeing attractions such as the Cutty Sark and local history spots like the National Maritime Museum. You could also walk part of the Thames path and see the Thames Barrier. Or visit the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

From Royal Docks you can visit Newham City Farm, the Museum of London Docklands and the ExCeL
