Hayley, Butterflies group member -

“5 years ago, my mother died exactly one month after my first child was born. I used to put on a brave face but inside I felt terrible. Several friends had told me about Butterflies, a group for parents with young children, who had lost a parent. Joining Butterflies was a real turning point for me. I knew I was with people who understood. Each of the six members of the group supported one another, and I began to learn how to manage my grief. We all now meet socially but never forget how we became friends. 5 years on, I miss my mum terribly, however I know that my mum helped to give me the strength to be who I am today.”
