The Farm

Here we have an open children’s educational farm. Its a working farm with a wide variety of animals from small to big including birds, poultry, geese, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, goats, sheep, pigs, cows and even reindeer.

Dog’s are welcome on the farm, however they must stay on the lead and kept under control at all times. See and learn about all the animals, feed them and pet some as well.

You can also visit our Farmers Play Barn located between Lower and Upper Farms which has just been refurbished with a bright new look and a new a climbing wall. Here we also have coin rides, play mats and this is also the area in which we hold events and our seasonal activities such as Santa’s Grotto and Pumpkin Carving.

Pony Zone

On the park we offer pony rides daily throughout the spring and summer. Our gentle ponies are ideal for first timers and great fun for children who have ridden before. Pony rides can be booked online or can be booked on the day at our farm office. Please be aware that tickets bought on the day are subject to availability.

Pony rides are booked in time slots please only arrive in time for your ride. £5 for a taster ride or £10 for an extended ride. Pony Zone itself is located in the car park area near the toilet block and Woodlands Adventure.

100 Aker Wood

Whilst at the park you will discover a totally different type of Wood – 100 Aker Wood – where Winnie the Pooh lives. Really!! Pooh, Rabbit, Eeyore and Piglet too, all live in Aldenham Country Park!

Play “Pooh Sticks” at Pooh Bridge, creep past Eeyore’s Gloomy Place, see the giant wooden sign pointing this way and that.

Onto Pooh’s Corner… knock on the door and see if anyone is in, continue past Piglet’s House and Kanga’s Tree, or is that Owl’s Tree? Keep going and you will reach the North Pole. Then downhill to Rabbit’s House, past the Heffalump Trap, by the Hunny on the Bee Tree and Christopher Robin’s house which maybe says “Gon Out Bak Son” – oh well!

Excellent place to visit and so close to North London!! Very cheap day out but also great for a couple of hours. The playground and Winnie The Pooh areas are free and so you only pay for the car park. We also went to the farm there, which had a large variety of animals and was well worth paying the cheap entry fee. Loads of places to sit and have a picnic too. I can’t wait to go back because I only saw a small part of it in a couple of hours!

Aldenham is such a fun day out. There’s so much to do there. There are 2 playgrounds suitable for younger and older children that are free. On the other side of the car park is the 100 Aker Wood which is a large field with the homes of different characters from Winnie the Pooh dotted around. There’s lots of space here for the kids to run around ad well as a picnic area in the middle. The 100 Aker Wood and playgrounds are free. Take wellie boots though… it gets very muddy there!
There are other activities at Aldenham that you pay for. The farm is nice and not overly expensive. The entry price includes food for the animals. The pony rides are lovely but expensive. There is also a new Woodland Playground that costs to enter. All in all, this is a really fun day out with lots to do for all the family. There are two sets of toilets/baby change facilities. The car park is expensive. You can either pay at the kiosk with your entry to the other activities and they give you a token, or you need change to pay at the exit.
